"When you argue against Him you are arguing against the very power that makes you able to argue at all: it is like cutting off the branch you are sitting on."
C.S. Lewis ( Mere Christianity)
I love reading C.S. Lewis quotes. I find a lot of them on http://www.goodreads.com/author/quotes/1069006.C_S_Lewis . :)

I Need Help!
For my birthday on Saturday my family and I are going to watch a movie and I don't know what movie to watch. I just can't think of anything! So, I was wondering if you all had any suggestions.
The kind of movie I'm looking for is........ an action movie that is not too gory so my little brother won't freak out. Yep... so any suggestions?
Thanks!

Storms
Last night we had a lot of severe weather. Basement here I come! Anyway, nothing too bad happened but it was still quite......scary.
~STORM~
By, William Thomas Dodd, Germany
A cacophonous cannonade of thunder,
doesn’t it make you wonder?
blasting buss of blunder,
pitter-patter rain, pouring under,
streets awash like tumult tundra,
lucid lightning flash,
clip-clop heels as people dash
to take cover from the splash,
when grey skies clear
then listen here
in quiet heavens
doth now appear
a rainbow

My Review On Avatar
So, last night I watched Avatar. I was hoping for a pretty decent movie. I had read a review on it and it had sounded like it had its moments, but was mostly good. Well, that review was way off. Avatar was wretched. It had a lot of swearing, and not just the D word or something (which is still bad but it is not the worst) It also had harsh language. I was hoping that it would get better but it didn't. If anything, it got worse. It used God's name in vain, it had a lot of weird spiritual stuff, and it had a nudity moment. But it did have good parts, too. A guy was helping to kick The People off their land, but he changed and helped them defeat the humans. It had great effects and it was, at times, amusing. So it had a lot of stuff in it but there were good parts too. People weren't always swearing and it had pleasant moments. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Frantic For Apple Dumplings!
My mom and my brother and sister all went to the circus and my dad was fixing the car, so my grandma and me had supper together, (which was very nice) but afterwards I really was craving an apple dumpling! Which is nothing new since I always want an apple dumpling:) Apples were sitting on the counter, sugar and cinnamon were in the cupboard. Is was too strong of a temptation. I got up and started to gather ingredients. I had it all on the counter. How do you make one of these? Well, I'll make the dough first. That sounded right. Now if you know me at all you know I don't know a thing about cooking. But this might not have been a problem if I had a recipe but I didn't, so I threw everything to the wind and mixed up a dough, peeled and cored an apple and put cinnamon and sugar all over it, wrapped it up and popped it in the oven. I prayed I wouldn't start smelling burnt dough. And 15 min later I started smelling something, and thank goodness it was the smell of apples and not burnt dough. I was very excited and hope mounted to reassurance of success. And then the timer went off. Time to dig in!
So how did it turn out? Well, truth be told, not so great. The dough was hard and weird tasting and the apple could have been cooked longer and it was an ugly little thing! But other than that, *sigh* it was OK. And it satisfied my craving for an apple dumpling. For now.

I Run to Christ
(by Chris Anderson)
I run to Christ when chased by fear
And find a refuge sure.
“Believe in me,” His voice I hear;
His words and wounds secure.
I run to Christ when torn by grief
And find abundant peace.
“I too had tears,” He gently speaks;
Thus joy and sorrow meet.
_____
I run to Christ when worn by life
And find my soul refreshed.
“Come unto Me,” He calls through strife;
Fatigue gives way to rest.
I run to Christ when vexed by hell
And find a mighty arm.
“The Devil flees,” the Scriptures tell;
He roars, but cannot harm.
_____
I run to Christ when stalked by sin
And find a sure escape.
“Deliver me,” I cry to Him;
Temptation yields to grace.
I run to Christ when plagued by shame
And find my one defense.
“I bore God’s wrath,” He pleads my case—
My Advocate and Friend.

Christ Suffered and Died........
To show the wealth of God's love and grace for sinners. (reason 5 from John Piper's The Passion of Jesus Christ)
One will scarcely die for a righteous person-
though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die-
but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us. Romans 5:7-8
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.
Ephesians 1:7

I Can't Wait!
I can't wait! Today I get to see one of my friends for the first time in almost a year. Boy, it's been too long! We will be meeting for lunch. It will be so much fun. Imagine, six girls laughing and talking while they eat lunch and then afterwards wander the mall. Joy!!!!! I can't wait. Only 15 min. until we leave............
